Homemade Mint Sauce: Taste of India


Mint chutney is a North-Indian spicy condiment, The basic ingredients of the recipe are fresh mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, garlic, chopped green chili & lemon juice which are blended together in the mixer machine to get smooth fine paste . mint chutney is also known as pudina chutney in Hindi . you can also called it coriander mint chutney just because of included  coriander leaves in the recipe .  mint chutney is  basically originated from India .

Ingredients 
  • coriander leaves                   100 gm
  • mint leaves                            50  gm
  • Ginger                                   10 gm
  • Garlic                                    5 cloves
  • Green chilies                        2 pc for spicy
  • salt                                         To taste
  • lemon juice                            1 tbsp
Method of preparing Mint chutney
  • All the ingredients are grinded in the blender to the smooth paste .
Chef Notes 
  • It is also used ice cube instead of water while blending the leaves because it is considered that ice cube helps to keep the color same .
  • sometimes, yoghurt is used in the chutney, if you use it don't add to blend, but whisk it first and add into sauce and mix with spoon .
  • The purpose of using lemon is for taste and also assist the chutney from being blakish during grinding .
Taste and Flavor
  • Obviously, minty taste and little bit sour .
Garnishing 
  • It is simply garnish with mint leaves .
Accompaniments 
  • Tandoorifried and grilled food such as chicken tandoori, chicken tikka, paneer, tikka samosa, fritters, fried fish and chicken , Aloo paratha and so on .
Storing 
  • It is stored in an airtight container in  refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
